And one more year,
Cinemaissí reaches Oulu too! <3
In partnership with Oulu-Matagalpa Ystävyysseura and Oulun Elokuvakeskus,
Cinemaissí will screen two films in Oulu this year, one documentary and one feature film
– a taste of Cinemaissí before the festival starts in Helsinki.
The film programme showcases some of the most relevant Latin American documentaries directed by women from the 60s onwards. These works share a clear gesture of resistance to challenging the traditional models of cinematic representation, historically dominated by male narratives. At the same time, they introduce the complex and multiple tensions produced between personal and socio-political experiences, vividly reverberating in nowadays’ debates.
